Hi! I just wanted to say that I've been reading your blog for about a month now and I think it's great! I stumbled upon a piece you wrote about Joseph Prince, and I appreciated the dialogue that you created on the subject. This is my first time commenting here. I was moved to do so because of this post.
I've known how you feel. There were some days when all I want to do is be just like everyone else; into "worldly" things so I can experience that feeling of camaraderie and friendship. But every time I even began to go in that direction, I was sharply reminded that the things of this world are dust! They are nothing, without any true meaning and an ability to sustain me spiritually. I remember being surrounded by a group of friends (of the world) and being unsatisfied with their ideas and values. Their superficial understanding of everything began to erode my desire to...find something better. I remember becoming restless and impatient with everyone. Then, I one day was moved by the Holy Spirit to pray. I asked for God to reveal himself to me, and to give me meaning to my life. I believe, 100%, that God heard and answered my prayer.
As for the loneliness Christians often feel at times, I find that surrounding yourself with God and his people eradicates that feeling. I, personally am involved in several church organizations and activities. This has allowed me to find true friends with similar values and interests, with the love we all have for God over-pouring into our daily interactions with one another.
If you are surrounded by people who are not "of God", then they will drag you off of your path, and hold you back from salvation. Try and join some church organizations, and make friends with the people there. You will be surprised at how much you learn from them, especially when it comes to overcoming the temptation to lead a worldly life! I pray that you keep going down the path of righteousness. Your blog inspires me, and I'm sure that you have inspired a lot of other people too. God Bless You! :)
I hope you understand that walking with the Lord is a Choice that we have to make Daily. the apostles struggled with it everyday; they had to choose daily which side they were on. they had to die daily to their sinful thoughts and deeds and ask God daily from the time they woke up to the time they laid back down to sleep; to help keep them following and doing His will. we have to do the same thing as well. every morning we wake up is a blessing and a chance to make a choice to live or to die. if we choose this world and follow our own way, we lose out on life everlasting and the blessed peace to come, but if we choose God, Jesus tells us, to strengthen us that the world hated him, and if it hated him we will be hated also for following Him, but to be strong for in the end, it will be worth all the pain and ridicule this world can throw at us. that even if we are to lose our life in this world standing firm on His word and promises. we will once again live not as a spirit but as Holy Flesh and blood. Just as He was raised from death. defeating it. I'm sorry I paraphase alot. but here are some scriptures. ps 86:3. Ps 88:1, Luke 9:23, 1 Cor 15:31 hope this helps. stay strong and learn to die daily to this world. for this is not our home, Christ will be coming soon for us. Be Blessed and God Bless you. much love to you in Christ Jesus. :)
