Fear being a choice

I just got done reading one of Darrin Hufford's blog entries. He said that fear "IS a choice." He said he doesn't allow his kids to be afraid and doesn't let them sleep in mom and daddy's bed when they have a nightmare or whatever is making them afraid. He said by doing so, you are telling your kids that they indeed have something to be afraid of. Does it make sense? Yeah I guess it does. But at the same time it feels like "tough love." IS God tough love?

I'm afraid to be a child of God around my family. I'm afraid to shine my light in front of the world. I'm afraid to stick up for the bible. I'm afraid to confront kids i went to school with about Jesus and how He's in me. I'm afraid of losing my family because of Jesus. The list goes on...

The Devil is a taskmaster, and He is the oppressor and the accuser of the brethren and He will try to push you to tell others about Jesus. Knowing that you are still weak in faith. Then he begins to condemn you, and tell you that you are a coward and that you are ashamed of God, and that you don't love God, because if you did, you would be telling others about Jesus. And He will laugh at you....Hahahaha, And you call your self a Christian. "Yeah Right"

Remember this, the Devil will always push you into doing something while pretending to be the voice of God.

Jesus will never push you, or force you into doing anything. Jesus is our Shepherd, and He leads us beside the still and restful waters!

King Saul a picture of Satan, who was looking for his fathers lost donkey's. A picture of a man using men to work for him a hard labor based and task master mentality. Mules work for you and serve you.
Mules are used to carry heavy loads and burdens for their master.

And King David a picture of Jesus who was tending his Fathers sheep, a servant that serves the sheep, and spends his time feeding them and protecting them, and leading, and guiding them, and making them lie down in green pastures!

Jesus causes us to Rest, the Devil will cause you to work with Sorrow and toilsome labor like he did with Adam.

But with Jesus. The blessing of the Lord it makes a man rich, and He addeth no sorrow to it.

THe blessing works for you, you dont work for the blessing!

God is a loving, and gracious God.

Fear being a choice.

The Devil is the Spirit of fear and terror and guilt to make us feel inferior, and if this is the voice you are listening to, you have a choice, not to.

Because we have a choice to listen to, and follow the Spirit of God. For God did not give us a Spirit of fear, but of His love, and His power and a sound mind. He gives us His righteousness, His peace, and His Joy in the Holy Ghost.

The devils Fear, and inferiority, or Gods Love and superiority, we have a choice!

JORDY!!!!! You know this big sister is happy to see you back, I have missed you..........that said;

DUDE - JUST - LET - GO!!

You do not have to do one single thing, you do not have to prove one single thing - just let go and let him love you awhile, turn off your noisy mind and just chill out and relax!!!!! I speak peace over you my brother.....the peace that passes all understanding will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus!!

Jordy,

I agree with Lydia and Rudy. God will handle all the junk and confusion; we get to just rest in His arms. It's hard to forget the problems, but He is carrying you no matter what you feel..That's been my experience when I went through hard times. There's some times when we can't even think straight, when we don't feel we're trusting or seeing God. But He is still there, carrying us. He's the One who has to be strong, and He is!

Jordy...I do not know enough about you to offer you some advise. You seem to be very young. One thing I can tell you with certainty....Darin Hufford is "NOT" biblical....not even close! Google Paul Washer and listen to him.

Ike,

Paul Washer... I don't know what to think about him. I've heard him preach. He may be something UNBELIEVERS need to check out. Cause God is no longer angry with His children I thought.

Hey Jordy. For what it's worth,I think Paul Washer's best left alone. He's got a strong grace+law message = no grace, I think. Confusion.

That nightmare thing comes up here where Joseph Prince has a funny analogy and opposite take.

God doesn't meet us minus our fears. He takes us up with them, and we put them down as we become more persuaded of His goodness, favour, power and love of us. If He left us in our beds without His warmth we'd never know anything but fear. But he hasn't "left us in our beds", he's justly, righteously brought us into His already.

will the real christianity please stand up?

Rudy, Lydia, Sparrow and Phil all have wonderful comments and have been leading you down the path to still waters. But the Shepherd will not force you, no, you must follow Him if you are willing.

AW Tozer talked about this in the third chapter of "The Pursuit of God"...he called it rending the veil. Taking your rightful place on the cross with Christ and now reckoning yourself dead. Dead to sin, dead to fear, dead to the life that is lived by following lies because you now have a new nature...a divine nature.

I love what John says here.

1Jn 4:18 There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.
1Jn 4:19 We love because he first loved us.

When you understand and appropriate the perfect love the Father has for you that love cast out all fear. But when you continually harden your heart to receive the love that God already has for you turmoil will inadvertently follow...as it seems to be doing.

Just for the record, Promised Grace, I'm still seeking the sense of peace and pure new covenant clarity I want, too. Just wanted to say that.
